Healing Work

Greetings and a warm welcome to my healing space. My goal here is to help people feel more empowered about their health and wellness care, and to make that care as accessible as I can. When it comes to wellness and prevention, many western physicians are ill-equipped to support their clients. They tend to lean heavily into diagnostic tools, pharmaceuticals, and surgeries. Very little effort is expended on prevention, with the lions-share of their focus going toward heroic forms of treatment. There is a time and a place for heroic forms of treatment, but the purpose of any healer worth their salt should be on preventing chronic illness, and if a health imbalance is already present, identifying the root cause and working to restore homeostasis. To that end, I help my clients navigate their health and wellness needs through a variety of natural healing modalities: Herbalism, homeopathy, aromatherapy, acupressure, crystal therapy, flower essences, nutritional support, energy healing, and various forms of movement and body work.

Quick Consult

Many acute yet mild-to-moderate in severity illnesses can be managed safely and effectively at home. And your friendly neighborhood holistic healer can help you to help yourself, or help you determine if it’s time to seek medical assistance.

It is important that we as healers facilitate the opportunity for our clients to learn to heal themselves. I am a teacher at heart, and always delighted to share my knowledge of healing plants and healing modalities. I believe that it can be an empowering experience to heal oneself. Even more so when the knowledge continues to serve you, your family, and community for years to come.

Unlike the initial assessment, this is a short 15-30 minute appointment where the focus is on addressing acute conditions. While this will likely mean primarily managing the symptoms, we will also attempt to determine the cause of those symptoms and address that as well. The quick consult is not appropriate for chronic illness unless you are already under care. Illnesses that are appropriate for a quick consult include:

The common cold

Flu virus

Stomach virus

Fever

Cough

Congestion

Ear infections

Seasonal allergies

Sore throat

Urinary complaints

Fungal infections

Yeast infections

First aid

Minor burns

Rashes

Other acute health concerns

We will focus on easily accessible healing modalities and remedies, many that require no tools other than you, and herbs that can be found in your average spice cabinet or kitchen cupboard. Additionally, I will share community resources, links, and instructions for further education and support. So get your questions ready and bring your wellness journal or paper and a pen!

Fees

$75 for new clients, $55 for existing clients

Health Assessment & Management

Traditionally, most healthcare followed a simple process that began at home. And in most cases it stayed there. Rarely did one need to outsource for assistance. Where we once managed the majority of our physical, emotional, mental, and even spiritual well-being ourselves, we now place even the most common of health conditions in the hands of physicians. We have been reduced to mere spectators in our own health care, many of us unquestioning and accepting of whatever the “good” doctor tells us. And that wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, if only all doctors were fully invested in their clients’ wellbeing. But sadly, many are not. And even those that truly care are often ill-equipped to offer personalized holistic care.

Thanks to the paternalism and hierarchy inherent in our society, those who are medical doctors are considered to be the only ones qualified to offer diagnosis and treatment. You are not “qualified” to manage your own health. And so we are a culture divorced from knowledge of our bodies and how to properly prevent and treat illness and disease.

The best Medicine is holistic, and follows an approach that progresses from least to most invasive, focusing on prevention of illness and delving into the root cause of disease. Holistic medicine not only addresses the physical body, but the emotional, mental, and spiritual “bodies” as well. This means that I will consider how you’re feeling, what you’re thinking, your experiences, your stress and stressors, and more in my assessment of your health.

The goal of this assessment is to co-create an in-depth picture of your health, and then begin to address areas in need of improvement. Like an onion, we will peel away each layer of the symptom picture one bit at a time. We will look for patterns, connect dots, and form a plan of action, making adjustments as more layers are resolved and others uncovered. Here is some of what you can expect at your initial appointment:

• A thorough look at your health history, including your medical diagnoses, medications, outside lab work, family health history, reproductive history.

• Tissue state analysis which identifies the energetics of different areas of the body and more.

• Astrological profile for deeper insight into the self, areas of strength and weakness, and direction in achieving overall well-being.

• A Wellness Restoration Plan which will include dietary and lifestyle adjustment suggestions, herbal formulations, supplements, and other remedies and therapies to nourish and restore your vital force.

I want you to feel empowered in this process. Your body is the true healer here, I am just a helpful and knowledgeable guide.
